Aurora ~ Joe Wendell Reid, 76, a retired toolmaker for Lockheed Martin died Friday, March 14, 2014 in Bridgeport, Texas.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Mickey Reid, Travis Reid, Mark Keeton, Andy Keeton, Bailey Kemp, and Tyler Kemp.
Wendell was born March 31, 1937 to Ovid Burch and Etta Mae (Harwell) Reid in Decatur, Texas. He married Darlene Forsyth on February 9, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years Darlene Reid of Aurora; 2 daughters, Karen Keeton and husband Mark of Haslet, and Pam Kemp of Boyd; son, Mickey Reid and wife Judy of Rhome; 6 grandchildren, Travis Reid and wife Sarah, Amy Moreland and husband Michael, Lindsay Kemp, Jessica Keeton, Andrew Keeton, and Tyler Kemp; 2 great grandchildren, Dashal Reid and Collins Reid; brother, Perry Reid and wife Debbie; nephew, Coby Reid and wife Cherri; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
