Joe Lynn Rich

Chico~ Joe Lynn Rich, 79, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 22, 2021 in Decatur.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at The Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in Thomas Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. The family requests that all attendees wear a mask in consideration of current health safety for everyone.

Rev Gary Dimmitt to officiate. Pallbearers to include Jacob Roberts, Eddie Carlton, Rusty Johnson, Ryan Roberts, Cody Johnson, Jason Roberts, Danny Watts, and George Weatherly.

Joe was born on November 30, 1941 to Dalton Edward and Annie Mae (Tipps) Rich in Paradise, Texas. He was a heavy equipment operator with LaFarge Rock Crusher in Chico for many years. He was united in marriage to Wanda Sue Johnson on July 1, 1961 in Bridgeport, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ruby Martin; his grandson, Luke Johnson; and his son-in-law, Russell Johnson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Wanda Rich of Chico; his daughters, Sheryl Johnson of Bridgeport, Kelli Weatherly of Bridgeport, and Kristy Watts and husband Danny of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Jayme Johnson, Andrea Johnson, Rusty Johnson, Cody Johnson, Leah Wilson, Jacob Roberts, Ryan Roberts, and Kayli Roberts; his great-grandchildren, Cade, Tatum, Maddox, Perri, Benji, Ava, and Jase; his brothers, D. Edward Rich, and Curtis Rich; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
