Joe Bob Unger

Boyd ~ Joe Bob Unger, 74, went to be with our Lord Sunday, December 6, 2020 in Boyd.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Thomas Cemetery. Friends and family will gather 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home chapel in Boyd.

Brent Wilson and Rodney Holmes will officiate.

Joe Bob was born on March 23, 1946 to Robert Edwin and Addie Joe (Yeary) Unger in San Angelo, Texas.  He was united in marriage to Rebecca (Becky) Ann Johnson on July 23, 1969 in Rhome, Texas.  Joe Bob owned and operated J & B Automotive since 1968, worked 18 years with the Boyd Volunteer Fire Department, and 20 years on the Boyd City Council.  He loved camping and pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 39 years, Rebecca Ann Johnson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Thomas Edwin Unger and wife Lachelle of Tyler; his daughter, Teresa Kay Kling of Boyd; his son, Dan Wall of Sanger; 8 grandchildren, Justin, Colton, Alston, Michaela, Tatum, Camden and Bailey; 4 great-grandchildren, Anna, Justin, Tanner, and Mollie; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
