BRIDGEPORT -- John Earl Campbell, 80, a retired heavy equipment operator died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in Weatherford.
Graveside service: 3 p.m. Saturday at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate.
John Earl was born on August 13, 1928, the son of Elmer and Ioma (Hudson) Campbell in Bridgeport. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII in Germany. He married Lula Mae White on May 29, 1948 in Weatherford.
John Earl was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Ray Campbell and his brother, Weldon Campbell.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife of 60 years, Lula Mae Campbell; daughter, Linda P. Motley and husband Travis of Midlothian; son, Larry Earl Campbell of Azle; 5 grandchildren: Cynthia Threadgill, Meloney Campbell, Kevin and Stuart Motley, and Brian Campbel; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Billy Campbell of Mesquite; sisters, Bobbie Caldwell of Kaufman, Naoma Campbell of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
