Boyd: John L. Carver, 51, an engineer for Bell Helicopter, went to be with our Lord Friday, August 27, 2010 at his home in Boyd.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The Reverend Tim Neely to officiate. Pallbearers: Ty Harriel, Dusty Lamance, Darrell Etter, Trae Luttrell, John Dudd and Chase Howell.
John was born February 8, 1959 to Kenneth N. and Rebecca (Hartman) Carver in Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated Madison High School in Madison, Tenn. and the University of Maryland. John served his country attaining Sergeant in the Air Force. He married Nelda Wilkinson June 25, 1988 in Lancaster, California. He was a member of the Dickerson Road Baptist Church in Nashville, Tenn. and was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Carver and stepfather Joe Swift.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Nelda of Boyd; daughter, Rebecca Howell and husband Chase of Rhome; son, Justin Carver and wife Cassie of San Antonio; 9 grandchildren including Madison Cheyenne Howell of Boyd; mother Rebecca Swift of Nashville, TN; brothers, James Carver and Randy Swift; sisters, Kim Hinkle and Sheila Swan; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
