John Dee Gober, Jr. was born on July 21st, 1931 in Milam County, Texas to John Dee and Mary Delilah Gober, and he has departed this world on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022. He was waiting to cross-over the Jordan River and will one day see his family again.
Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow at Indian Creek Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rev. Fred Raney will officiate.
Pallbearers are to include, Jesse Lucht, John Gober IV, Brandon Gober, Darren Gober, Kenneth "KG" Houchens, and Eric Gilbert.
Junior as he was known by his large family of siblings, who proceeded him in death are Grace, Ruth, Marie, William, Louise, James, and Mary. His surviving siblings are Bessie and Joe.
His family came from a long line of pioneers who came to Texas when it was wild and they carved out ranches and farms.
He was loved by his family, his wife, Arlis (Pate) Gober; his children, Sandra, Janet, Phyllis, Brenda, Bernice, John III, and Roger. He has 20 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren all of who he loved dearly.
