Decatur: John Fredrick Kissell, 68, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, March 31, 2011 in Decatur.

Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 4th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Cleveland officiating. Interment: 12:45 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Grand Prairie, Texas. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 3rd at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include the North Texas Honor Guard.

John was born April 15, 1942 to Carl Fredrick and Edith Isabell (Sanner) Kissell in Columbus, Ohio. He was a graduate of North High School in 1960 and he attended Ohio State University. John served proudly in Vietnam as an expert sharpshooter and earned a good conduct metal. He was honorably discharged in 1965. John worked for Ohio Bell until 1977 and then for Southwestern Bell until his retirement in 2002.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Vicki Kissell of Decatur; two daughters, Kelli L. Smith and husband, Aaron of Poolville and Sherri Kissell of Keller; two grandsons, Major and Marshall Smith of Poolville.
