Alvord: John Keith Marshall, 76, a retired preacher, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2009 in Decatur.

Memorial service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Central Fellowship Church in Decatur with Rodney Keith Marshall officiating. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Levelland Cemetery, Levelland, Texas.

Keith was born on February 26, 1933 in Weir, Texas, to Charles Nichols and Nellie Dee (Huches) Marshall. He married Mary Ella Weaver on July 6, 1951 in Levelland. John retired as a Church of Christ preacher after 30 years and retired from the Levelland ISD after 15 years as supervisor of transportation. He continued his work with Christ by working with Family Outreach, Made a Difference and as a certified CNA.

Keith and Mary moved to Alvord in 2003 to be close to his family. He was a member of Central Fellowship Church.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Mary Ella Marshall of Alvord; son, Dr. Rodney Keith Marshall and wife, Nancy of Champaign, Illinois, daughter, Yovonna Ella Cowan and husband, R.C. of Alvord; daughter-in-law Pam Caldwell and husband, Steve of Vernon, Texas; grandchildren, Sara Lee and husband, Nick, Sonny Lance Wimberly, Joshua Marshall, Dr. Ryan Cowan and wife, Kerista, Tyler Cowan and wife, Paige; great grandchildren, Ella Cowan and Carson Lee; sisters, Charlene Odom and husband, Claude of Lometa, Texas and June Gage and husband, Frank of Jal, New Mexico.

John is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Allen Marshall on July 26, 2000.
