John Wayne Rodgers

Runaway Bay ~ John Wayne Rodgers, 83, a retired Sears Store manager went to be with our Lord Monday, February 18, 2019 in Decatur, Texas.

Memorial service is 10:30 AM Friday at The Bay Church in Runaway Bay.  Rev. Ollin Collins is officiating.

Wayne was born October 17, 1935 to Esley and Murriel (Holloway) Rodgers in French Camp, Mississippi.  He graduated Mississippi State University and married Sharon Brookins December 14, 1968 in Orange, Texas.  He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.  Wayne was also a member of The Bay Church at Runaway Bay.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Sue Venable.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Sharon; his daughter, Merrit Floyd and husband Doug of Spicewood; his son, Terry Wayne Rodgers and wife Sally of Carrollton; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Wayne Rodgers of Lubbock and Sarah Grace Rodgers of Carrollton; his sister, Bonnie Pate of Port Neches; 2 nieces and 2 nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
