John Thompson

Boyd ~ John Thompson, 90, went to be with our Lord Monday, February 7, 2022 in Decatur.

Graveside is 2 PM Thursday at Aurora Cemetery.

John was born on March 1, 1931 to Dan and Emily Jane (Jones) Thompson in Glomawr, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to Doris Wolfe on April 11, 1953 in Minneapolis, Kansas. John retired from the Fort Worth Police Department after 33 years and he was a Master Mason for 55 years. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. John was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by 7 siblings.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Doris of Boyd; his daughter, Julie Harris and husband Danny of Azle; his son, Michael J. Thompson and wife Teresa of Azle; 2 grandchildren, Jason Thomas and Jennifer Williams; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jimmy and Ed Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
