John "Jack" Schedcik

Runaway Bay ~ John “Jack” Lawrence Schedcik, 87, went to be with our Lord Monday, August 5, 2024 in Decatur.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church in Bridgeport with burial at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday with Rosary at 6 PM at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Father Anto Carloose to officiate.

John was born on April 15, 1937 to John Joseph and Irene (Nowicky) Schedcik in Athens, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Joan Lamb on June 28, 1958 in Menasha, Wisconsin. John retired from the Air Force as a Flight Engineer and he was a member of Knights of Columbus. He was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and a friend to many that will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Schedcik; his wife, Joan Schedcik; and his daughter-in-law, Brandi Schedcik.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, John Schedcik of Alvord and Patrick Gary Schedcik of Denton; his daughter, Risa Kaker and husband Carl of Paradise; his grandchildren, Christopher Kaker of Cabot, Arkansas, Nicholas Kaker of Paradise, Marissa and Katelyn Schedcik both of Alvord; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
