Johnnie "Ruth" Glassie

Fort Worth~ Johnnie “Ruth” Glassie, 85, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at East Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport, Texas.

Tommy Joe Hicks will officiate.

Ruth was born on May 2, 1937 to John Anderson and Vergie (Reno) Davidson in Bridgeport, Texas. She worked as a caretaker. Ruth was united in marriage to Thomas Woodrow Glassie on August 25, 1951 in Decatur. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who will be missed dearly by all those that knew and loved her so much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vergie Davidson; her husband, Thomas Glassie; her son, Larry Wayne Glassie; her sisters, Eula Mae Green and Anna Lois Hicks; and her brother, Roy Lee Davidson.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda Glassie, Susie McClintic and husband Barry, and Donna Baggett; her son, Freddie Glassie and wife Gina; her grandchildren, Shawnda, Sheresa, Lindsey, Brandy, Jason, Jonathan, Michael, and Matthew; 23 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, many extended family members and a host of friends.
