LAKE BRIDGEPORT -- Johnny Clarence Garrett, 70, retired from the U.S. Navy, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in Denton.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 in West Bridgeport Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Clarence was born on January 28, 1937 in Bridgeport, Texas to Luther and Nannie (Morton) Garrett. He married Wanda Gayle Donly on January 29, 1960 in Bridgeport. Clarence was a military Veteran, retiring from the U.S. Navy after serving for 30 years. He served on the USS Woodrow Wilson. Hw was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 5 brothers, Tommy, Jimmy, Paul, Billy Jack, and Carlton.
Survivors: Wife of 47 years, Gayle Garrett of Lake Bridgeport; son, Kelly Garrett and wife D'Anna of Lake Bridgeport; daughters, Kim Holt and husband Glenn of Lake Bridgeport, and Karen St. John and husband Teddy of Sunset; 7 grandchildren, Nicole, Jason, Richard, Danny, Kirsten, Aaron, and Colton; 3 sisters, Peggy Shepard, Susie Cheves, and Lavina Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
