Johnny Wayne Hale, 72, went to be with our Lord Thursday, February 3, 2022.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Sweetwater Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Johnny was born October 10, 1949 to Benjamin Franklin Jr. and Mattie Viola (Fennell) Hale in Decatur, Texas. He was raised in Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School in 1968. Johnny worked as a butcher for Pinkerton’s Grocery, a pumper for Mitchell Energy, and in the paint department for Peterbilt Motors. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, woodworking, collecting rocks, and spending time with his four granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Benjamin Jr. and Mattie Hale; his sister, Viola Faye Wilson; his brother, Benjamin Hale III.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Bryan Hale and wife Michelle of Ponder; his daughter, Misty Hood and husband Archie Jr. of Honey Grove; 4 grandchildren, Madeleine Hale, Ellie Hood, Katherine Hale, and Lily Hood; sister, Shirley Donley and husband David of Bowie; his brother, Danny Hale and wife Kriste of Lake Arrowhead; several nieces, nephews and extended family members, and a host of friends.
