Johnny "Papa John" Ray Sanford

Paradise ~ Johnny Ray “Papa John” Sanford, 65, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 27, 2021 in Paradise.

Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at The North Texas High School Rodeo Association Arena 6229 Windy Ryon Way Saginaw, Texas 76179. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the arena.

Johnny was born September 20, 1955 to John Wayne and Mary Alice (Barrett) Sanford in Dallas.  He was united in marriage to Linda Gay Hamby on November 10, 1989 in Roanoke, Texas.  Johnny proudly served our country in the United States Army and then became a Truck Driver. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

He was preceded by his parents; and his sister, Ella Self and husband Tift.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Gay Sanford of Paradise; his children, Rene Wood of Duncan, Oklahoma, Misty Rasmussen and husband Chris of Wasilla, Alaska, Cody Sanford Ketchum and wife Cassie of Healdton, Oklahoma, and Jason McDaniel and wife Michell of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his sister, Cathy Jones of Newsome; numerous extended family members, and a host of good friends and neighbors.
