Celebrating A Life Well Lived
Jon Carol Carsey, 81, died Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024.
Jon Carol was born June 22nd, 1942, to Ethel Rowena Pierce and Charles Brown Carsey in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from UT Arlington where she earned her Master’s Degree in Microbiology from UT. Carol attended Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for her PHD in Microbiology. A partner with Marie Hatfield Financials International, which brought La Madeleine to Dallas from Paris, Jon Carol was the accountant in the early years.
Jon Carol owned Big Bear Ranch in Possum Kingdom from 1988 to 2020 where she and Piner Thomason ran Old Piner Construction Co. They designed and built many fine docks on the lake until Thomason’s death in 2016.
Jon Carol served on Possum Kingdom Women’s Auxiliary, which organized sales for the Volunteer Fire Department. Jon Carol, served as Librarian for the Auxiliary. Her love of art, nature, science and music was shared with near-by neighbors, visitors, and stargazers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, by her sister Meri Welles, and by her brother Gerald Pierce Carsey.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sisters, Diana Carsey of Florida, Sweety Carsey Bowman of Flower Mound; nephews Andre Carsey, Alton Bowman IV, and nieces, Ada Wilder, and Ariel Bowman; extended family members and a host of friends.
