Jonita Carol Morrow, 57, a devoted daughter and respected professional, passed away on April 26, 2024, in Decatur. Born on June 24, 1966, in Temple, Texas, to Larry LaVoyce and Anita Emile (Pollak) Morrow, Jonita's journey was marked by her academic achievements and unwavering commitment to family.

Educated in Temple, Taylor, and Cameron, Jonita graduated from Decatur High School before pursuing higher education at the University of North Texas. She earned her BBA in Risk Management in 1989 and pursued her MBA in Human Resources from the same institution. Jonita's active involvement in the Methodist church during her youth and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Decatur.

Jonita worked in Dallas and at the University of North Texas as a Risk Manager before transitioning to roles as a Human Resources Director and Risk Manager at North Richland Hills, Haltom City, and Decatur.  However, Jonita's most profound act of selflessness was her recent devotion to caring for her mother during her battle with Parkinson's disease. Her loving care exemplified the depth of her character and the strength of her bond with family.

Jonita is preceded in death by her father, Larry LaVoyce Morrow, and is survived by her beloved mother, Anita Morrow, her brother Jeff Morrow and his wife Tanya of Haslet, her sister Jennifer Morrow of The Colony, and a host of cherished friends and family.

A memorial honoring Jonita's life will be held at Hawkins Funeral Home on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 6 pm to 8 pm, where friends and family will come together to celebrate her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, supporting research and advocacy for Parkinson's disease.
