Jorge Lopez Hernandez

Jorge López Hernández, 70, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Decatur.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bridgeport. The family will host friends from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary at 5 p.m. on Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Father Sam Ferix and Deacon Mauricio Hernandez will officiate. Pallbearers will include Jeff Titus, Armando Martinez, Jesus Mata, Jesus Alvarez, Miguel Varela, Alfredo Arriaga, and Wenceslao Lopez.

Jorge was born in Allende, Coahuila, MX on November 20, 1954, to Fernando López Garza and Antonia Hernández Valdés. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Olga Perez on April 15, 1974, in Remolino Zaragoza, MX. Jorge was a retired truckloader, a St. John the Baptist Catholic Church member, and loved to be with his family and friends. Jorge was a beloved husband, a devoted father, a loving uncle, and a friend to many who will miss him dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Jorge Luis López, and his sister, San Juana López Hernández.

Those left behind to treasure his memory are his wife of 50 years, Olga Perez Lopez of Bridgeport; her daughters, Claudia Titus and her husband Jeff of Loveland, CO, and Jessica Lopez and her boyfriend Armando Martinez of Bridgeport; her sisters, Maria Emma Lopez Hernandez, Olga Narcedalia Lopez Hernandez, of Zaragoza, Mexico, and Maria Antonia Rios, of Texas; his nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and a large number of friends.
