Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Decatur, Texas, with the Reverend Ken May officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery in Mansfield, Texas. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers are Alex Hewitt, Markus Pierson, Sam Hewitt, T.J. Bishop, Taylor Bishop and Tom Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Scheraga, Sidro Olivas, Sain Joseph, David Ramsey, C.E. Crenshaw, David Beckler, Michael Decker, Jim McGlamery and Jose Menendez.
Joseph, a Navy veteran, was born April 17, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to Warren Harding and Frances Luellen (Crisman) Bishop. He married Theresa "Terri" Beckler, September 30, 1989 in Dallas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 19 years, Terri Bishop; sons, Tony Bishop and wife, Mary of Rowlett, Texas, Brandon Bishop and wife, Jill of Franklin, Tennessee, Ryan Bishop and wife, Kelli of Louisville, Kentucky, and Dusty Bishop and wife Jennifer of Roanoke; daughter, Pamela Kay Pierson and husband, David of Oroville, California; grandchildren, Sam, Alex, Markus, Michael, Michelle, T.J., Taylor, Olivia, Brian, Billy, Brandi, Linda, Joshua, Aby, Isabel, Aurora, Cheyenne, Scott and Tommy; great-grandchildren, Halle and A.J.; brother, David Bishop and wife, Sherry of Center, Texas; sister Pamela Jean Rogers and husband, Mike of Kaufman, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents and 3 sons, Dennis, Danny and Joshua Bishop.
