Gary ~ Joseph L. Farrington, 47, retired military, went to be with our Lord Friday, August 9, 2013 in Gary, Texas.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Dawson Cemetery in Chico. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Bishop Richard Gillespie will officiate. Pallbearers include George Addington, Charlie Addington, James Waters, Cody Addington, and Ty Addington.
Joseph was born on August 6, 1966 to Kenneth Jr. and Andrea (Batcho) Farrington in Columbus, Georgia. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and studied electricity and electronics - meteorological equipment during that time. Joseph was united in marriage to Darlena Dawson on March 1, 1997 in Chico, she preceded him in death in 2000. He was also preceded in death by his father.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Andrea Strickland and husband Pat of Chico; his brothers, James Waters and wife Angie of Cottageville, South Carolina, Jonathan Strickland of Chico, Charlie Addington and wife Lori of Harrah, Oklahoma, George Addington and wife Leewanda of Harrah, Oklahoma; his sisters, Patricia Strickland of Chico, Kim Addington of Harrah, Oklahoma; his uncle, Bill Crunk; his aunts, Mary Gunter, Sue Crunk, and Nancy Ennis; other family members and a host of friends.
