Bowie: Joseph Don Seay, 70, of Bowie, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, September 30, 2008.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday, October 4th at the Voice of Trumpet Assembly of God Church in Sunset, Texas, with the Reverend Ernie Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Darwin Justice, John Lane, Johnathon Means, Stevie Zaward, Avery Barnes, Jimmy Clay, Gerald Smith and Eric Bordleon.
Joseph was born July 23, 1938 in Carrol, Mississippi to James Edward and Emma Sue Woodard Seay. He married Gracia Mae Barnes on December 5, 1973 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Gracia Seay of Bowie; 5 daughters, Panda Moss and husband Herman Smith of Park Springs, Brenda Lansford and husband, Terry of Runaway Bay, Christi Looney and husband, Jimmy of Alvord, Michelle Walsh and husband Bill of Sunset, Darla McClain of Cleburne; 4 sons, Melvin "Bo" Sons and wife Deylane of South Boston, Virginia, Billy Seay of Bowie, Jerry Pierce and wife, Debbie of Fort Worth, Donnie Ray Seay of Plano; brother, William L. Seay of San Antonio; sisters, Lilly Hollmand and husband, Tommy of Yazoo, Mississippi, Helon Mayer and husband, Gene of Richland Springs, Texas; 21 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
