Decatur: Joseph Leroy Wilde, 78, a retired welder, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in Decatur.

Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15th at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with Father Sojan George officiating. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home. Rosary is 7 p.m. following the visitation.

Pallbearers include Michael Wilde, Nicholas Wilde, Gregory Wilde, Johnathan Wilde, Teddy Tran and Timothy Tran.

Joseph was born January 6, 1932 in Rhineland, Texas to Charles and Annie Decker Wilde. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic church. He married Alice Jean Pennartz on June 21, 1958 in Decatur, Texas and was married 49 years at her death on October 28, 2007. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Thames and brother, Marvin Wilde.

Left behind to cherish his memory are four sons, Patrick Wilde and wife, Lynn of Wylie, Texas, Richard Wilde of Glen Rose, David Wilde and wife, Michelle of Lucas, Texas, and Thomas Wilde and wife, Jan of Hurst; three daughters, Karen Briggs and husband, Jeff of Dallas, Diane Bashaw and husband, Frank of Garland, and Valerie Tenhet and husband, Shane of Denton; 15 grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Gregory, Johnathan, Teddy, Timothy, Christopher, Alexander, Robyn, Kelli, Lauren, Rachel, Joshua, Jule, and Zoe; two great grandchildren, Madison and Kadin; five brothers, Dennis, Cecil, Melvin, Severin, and John Wilde; two sisters, Rose Ann Lajaunie and Betty Cooper; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
