Joyce Elaine (Phillips) Askey

Decatur ~ Joyce Elaine Askey, 82, went to be with our Lord Sunday, August 9, 2020 in Decatur.

Graveside is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Dr. David Lowrie is officiating.

Joyce was born on October 18, 1937 to Pack and Alla Mae (Stone) Phillips in Decatur, Texas, and later graduated Decatur High School. She was united in marriage to Billy Alvin Askey on April 1, 1960 in Decatur, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur for over 60 years and was a retired secretary for Sunny Hills Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 54 years, Billy Askey.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Phyllis Jordan and husband Gary of Rainbow, Texas; her son, Phillip Askey and wife Rebecca of Decatur; her grandchildren, Krista Corbitt and husband Blaine of Ft. Worth, Austin Jordan and wife Jacqui of Benbrook, and Kayla Askey of Oak Cliff; and 1 great-grandchild, Ava Claire Corbitt; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
