Denton ~ Joyce Nell Betty, 82, a retired quality assurance analysis, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Gerre Joiner will officiate.
Joyce was born on February 28, 1937 to Lester Eugene and Cora Mae (Hall) Overton in Fredrick, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Winfred Wayne “Wimp” Betty on March 24, 1962 in Fredrick, Oklahoma. Joyce was a member of the Baptist Church, the Material Girls and the Wise County Quilting Guide. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Winfred Betty; her son, Cary Betty; her 3 brothers, and her sister.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Katrina Modisett and husband Damon of Keller, and Lisa Grantham and husband Roger of Whitney; her 7 grandchildren; her 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
