Joyce Vermillion

Lindale ~ Joyce Vermillion, 71, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2020 in Lindale, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9th, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Lone Star Cemetery in Chico. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pastor Greg Johnson will be officiating. Pallbearers include William Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Justin Brooks, Andrew Brooks, David Head and Lesley Head.

Joyce was born on February 18, 1949 in Chico, Texas to Marshall Edward and Annie Mae (Newton) Brooks. A graduate of Chico High School, Joyce worked as an accountant at Texas Instruments for 37 years before retiring in 2009. She was active in her church and in the community, spending her later years in loving support of her children and grandchildren in East Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Carolyn Head.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Andrea Durbin and husband John; her son, Adam Vermillion; her grandchildren, Isaac Durbin, Kate Durbin, Jane Durbin, and Levi Durbin all of Lindale, Texas; her brothers, Jerry Brooks, Dennis Brooks, Phillip Brooks, and Tommy Brooks; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
