J.T. "Pops" Ward

Paradise~ J.T. “Pops” Ward, 87, went to be with our Lord on November 6th, 2024 in Denton.

Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 8th, 2024 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Graveside is 10:15 a.m. Friday, November 22nd, at DFW National Cemetery.

J.T. was born on April 20th, 1937 to J.W. and Floy Ward in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was a retired Systems Technician, working for over 30 years with AT&T.  Pops proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He cherished his family deeply and was always eager to brag about them. He also loved the Bridgeport Country Club, where he spent many hours on the porch visiting with friends. Even as time passed, he still found time to pick up his clubs—though not as often as he would have liked.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brad Caddell; his 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Johnny Ward and wife Jeannette of Paradise; his daughters, Laura Rhine and husband Darrell of Alvord, Charmaine Franks of Bridgeport, and Julie Downe Wicks and husband Carl of Rhome; his 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
