Boyd ~ J.T. “Jim” Simmons, 81, a retired payroll accountant, went to be with our Lord Saturday, September 26, 2015 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mark Noles will officiate.
Jim was born on February 13, 1934 to James and Marguerite (Green) Simmons in Rhome, Texas. He was united in marriage to Pam (Burns) Vardiman on February 3, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jim was a retired payroll accountant for Bell Helicopter. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Jim was a member of the Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Stan Simmons.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Pam Simmons of Boyd; his sons, Skip Simmons and wife Ginger of Arlington, Scott Simmons of Mexico, Steve Simmons of Spring, and Anthony Vardiman and wife Beth of San Diego, California; his grandchildren, Keith, Kyle, Ryan, Sean, and Rylie Simmons, Sierra Vardiman and Sydney Vardiman; his great grandchildren, Makenna, Kathryn and Marguerite Simmons; other family members and a host of friends.
