BOYD -- Juanita Spencer, 84, a medication aide at a local nursing home, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2009, in Azle. Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christian-Hawkins Chapel. Speaking at service will be Brian Hurley, Rocky Bransom and Donna Spencer. Organist; Joe Petrikovic, Larry McMullen and Rowland Sparks Soloists.Pallbearers: Kent Spencer,Brian Hurley, Rocky Bransom, Gerald Myatt, Lee Nelson, Barry Hurley.Honorary Pallbearers: Bobby Jack Cruz, Audie Phillips, Warren Saulter, Alvin Bassham, Raymond Jordan, Tommy Earnest,Jackie Read. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born the daughter of Orell Butler and Margarete (Newsom) Hague in Decatur,Tx. on August 28,1924. She married Norris Spencer in Boyd on February 17,1942 they were together for 53 1/2 years until his death in 1995. Juanita worked as a certified medication aide in a Decatur nursing home for 26 years,she was a professional volley ball player and bowler for many years .Juanita loved to sew, quilt,crochet and embroider. She was a member of First Baptist church of Boyd since 1942. Juanita loved her family and is happy to be going to her heavenly home. Her message to her family and friends would be to love the Lord and live life to its fullest ,just like she did. She was a 50 year member of Boyd #897 Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Rainbow Advisory of the Azle Assembly.

Those left to cherish her memory : Sons, W.R. "Dickie" Spencer of Cleburne, and T.K. "Tommy" Spencer and wife Donna of Boyd. Six grandchildren: Angie Branson and husband Rocky of Burleson, Amie Nelson and husband Lee of Brock, Kim Myatt and husband Gerald of Oklahoma, Kent Spencer and wife Kristen of Boyd. Brian Hurley and wife Heather of Saginaw, Barry Hurley and wife Sandy of Weatherford.

17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; Sister, Doris Zigmunt and husband Tom of Hollywood, Florida. Numerous nieces nephews and a host of friends. Juanita requests donations be made to the Boyd Cemetery Association in lieu of flowers.
