Judith Marie Emmert

Judith ‘Judy’ Marie Emmert, 73, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Decatur, Texas. The family will hold a Celebration of Life on June 13, 2020 in Illinois.

Judy was born on April 24, 1946 to Laverne and Marie (Kent) Emmert in Sterling, Illinois.

She enjoyed singing, playing her guitar, photography, arts and crafts, feeding the birds and keeping up with family and friends on Facebook. Judy was a courageous woman who loved with all her heart, never met a stranger and who will be missed dearly by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers and 3 sisters; her daughter, Dianna Renner; and her grandson, Joseph Strader.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Toni Shaw of Dixon, Illinois; her sons, Frank C. (Lynnette) Shaw of Decatur, Texas and Wessley (Pam) Shaw of Rock Falls, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her best friend and father of her children, Frank L. Shaw of Dixon, Illinois; her sister, Theresa (Terry) Willet of Bridgeport, Texas; her brothers, Gary (Debra) Emmert of Bridgeport, Texas and Gene (Paula) Emmert of Twenty-Nine Palms, California; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in honor of Judy Emmert to North Texas Cancer Center at Wise County or to the American Lung Association.
