Kim was born February 7, 1957 to Carl Nathan and Yukiko Nakano Ponder in Gotemba, Shizuoka-Ken, Japan. She married Scott Donald Tinkham on November 28, 1987 in San Jose, California. They were owners of Tinkink Publications since 2003.
Left behind to cherish her memory are husband, Scott Tinkham of Boyd; son, Garrett Tinkham of Superior, Wisconsin; sisters, Dana Ponder of Boyd, Andrea Randall of Nacogdoches; grandmother, Ava Ponder and parents all of Nacogdoches.
