Dear Ellis and family,

I had the privilege of knowing and working with Judy during my 12 years on the ASSE Board of Directors. I enjoyed that experience, and Judy and I worked well together. I considered her not only an associate, but a friend.

During my presidency of ASSE in 1986-87, I had the honor of attending the ceremony in Washington, D.C. where Judy was presented with the highest honor that the society of association executives bestows on any member. Ellis, perhaps you recall my attending that event. I am certainly happy that I was able to do that.

I have often thought of Judy since my retirement, and would inquire about her at the annual ASSE conferences I have been able to attend. My sincere sympathy to you all. She was a grand lady in my opinion.

Sincerely,

Bill Nebraska

My deepest sympathies. I worked for Judy at ASSE. She was always a lady and always made us want to achieve the best for both the members and ourselves. I have thought of her often and remember her telling me, if things get rough, just comb your hair and apply fresh lipstick. That always works. I will miss her.

Mary Caplis
