Julia (Turney) Lamance

Boyd ~ Julia Lamance, 84, a registered nurse, went to be with our Lord Monday, November 28, 2016 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Garvin United Methodist Church in Boyd.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. Phillip Weitner will officiate. Julia was born March 29, 1932 to Theodore and Florence (McManners) Turney in Weldon, Texas.  She was united in marriage to Windell Jack Lamance on October 13, 2001 in Boyd.  Julia worked for Harris Hospital for many years in the ICU/CCU department; she was an award winning published poet; co-owned the House of Hits music store in Fort Worth with Johnnie V. Langley; she loved to crochet and donated hats to the Cancer Society; she was treasurer for the Fort Worth Poets Society; Sunday school teacher at Garvin United Methodist Church; and she was a Girl Scout Leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and previous husband Harry Jarmusz.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Windell J. Lamance of Boyd; her son, John Bruce Langley and wife Sharon of Valdosta, Georgia; her daughters, Vivian Dianne Brown and husband R.D. of Round Rock, Mary Catherine Jackson and husband Tommy of Palmyra, Tennessee, and Sharon Overstreet and husband Chuck of Boyd; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her sisters, Carolyn Turney of Round Rock, Barbara Turney of Bellevue, Washington, and Bennie Joyce Hahn of California; Johnnie Victor Langley; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
