Chico ~ June Bowyer-Sowell, 81, a retired sales clerk for Chico Dry Goods and Wise Furniture Sales went to be with her Lord Saturday, October 15, 2016 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Mike Miller will officiate.
Pallbearers include Jake Sowell, Clayton Sowell, Scott Bowyer, Aaron Jones, Deroy Bennett, Colby Byers, Jimmy Counts, Hunter Renick, Aden Johnson, Lucas Scherb, David Stine, and Ryan Campbell.
June was born October 16, 1934 to Daniel and Helen (Otte) Eckert in Great Bend, Kansas. She married Eugene Bowyer on January 25, 1953. They were married 55 years till his passing in 2008. She married Sidney Sowell on February 14, 2012 in Chico, Texas. She was a long time member of Morris Memorial United Methodist Church.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Sidney Sowell of Chico; 5 sons, Bill Bowyer and wife Laina of Decatur, Doug Bowyer and wife Belinda of Chico, Steve Bowyer of Houston, Danny Sowell and wife Judy of Keller, and Terry Sowell and wife Debbie of Hurst; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene Engleman and husband Rod of Great Bend, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Bowyer; daughter, Sandra Jones; infant twin sons; brother, Gene Eckert; and sister, Darlene Dueser.
