June (Morris) Henry

Newark ~ June Morris Henry, 77, a retired kitchen manager, passed peacefully at her home Friday, April 29, 2016 after a short battle with cancer.

Graveside service is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in New Hope Cemetery, Burns City, Mountain Springs, Valley View, Texas.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. Lewis Coomer will officiate.

June was born on July 2, 1938 to Monroe and Hazel (Jones) Morris in Gainesville, Texas. She was united in marriage to Glenn Henry on October 6, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas. They were married 53 years before his death in 2011. June loved children and for many years, she babysat in her home before going to work as a kitchen manager at Seven Hills Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Henry; her brothers, Royce “Bo” Morris and Richard “Dickie” Morris; her sister, Adelle Garrett; and her grandson, Preston Henry.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Mike Henry and wife  Polly of Garfield, Arkansas, Jody Henry and wife Trice of Lindsay, Texas, and Terry Henry of Newark; her daughter, Kathi Landes of Newark; her grandchildren, Cris Henry, Regina Lewis, Jeff Henry, Tanner Henry, Douglas Landes, and KayLeigh Decker; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; her brothers, Bill Morris and wife Jane of Granada Hills, California and Donnie Morris and wife Sandra Kay of Marietta, Oklahoma; her sisters, Sandy Kemp and husband Stanley of Tioga, Texas and Debbie Denham and husband Bennie of Spring Branch, Texas; her sister-in-law Happy Morris of Cleburne; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
