Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Rev. Elaine Bussey will officiate. Pallbearers: Craig Woodard, Orrie Harris, Jimmy Bergeman, Jerry Sawatsky, Orlan Frantz, and Lonnie Benham.
Red Briscoe was born on June 26, 1916, the son of Thomas and Effie (Cannon) Briscoe in Graham. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He married Luella Neufeld on January 28, 1943 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Red was a retired gas meter tester for Warren Petroleum. He was a member of the Bridgeport Country Club.
Red was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Effie; his wife, Lou; brother, Buss Briscoe; and two sisters, Alfa Bass and Opal Perdue.
Left behind to cherish his memory is: his daughter, Cathy Briscoe of Fort Worth; sister, Irene Johnson of Perryton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
