Decatur ~ J.W. Lefler, 85, of Decatur went to be with his Lord Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Cornerstone Baptist Church with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Justin Cash, Shawn Lefler, Matt Beard, Ryan Beard, David Maldonado, and Craig Hail. Honorary Pallbearers include Keith Gray, Mike Howard, and Jim Olson.
J.W. was born on October 27, 1928 to George and Lucy (Goodson) Lefler in Stigler, Oklahoma. He married Lillie Dean Beard on August 19, 1950 in Clarendon, Texas.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Lillie Dean Lefler of Decatur; son, Randy Lefler and wife Leslie of Houston; daughter, Deana Maldonado and husband Jimmy of Azle; 4 grandchildren, Justin Cash, Lacey Cash, Shawn Lefler, and Brandi Brackeen; great grandchildren, Kaylen Cash and Athen Brackeen; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.
