Lake Bridgeport ~ J.W. “Jim” Ezzell, 82, a retired loader operator, went to be with our Lord Friday, March 6, 2020 in Lake Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2:00 pm Tuesday March 10, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Pastor Todd Blair will officiate.
Pallbearers include Cameron Iglehart, John Poteet, Gary West Carpenter, Winston Ezzell, Frankie Hobbs, and Jimmy Gamble.
Jim was born on April 21, 1937 to Vernon and Stella (Valvricka) Ezzell in San Antonio, Texas. He was united in marriage to Mattie Ruth Morgan on May 24, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They spent 47 wonderful years together until her passing in 2015. He worked for TXI as a loader operator and retired after 28 years. Jim loved the lake and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 47 years, Mattie Ruth Ezzell; and his son, Morgan Ezzell.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Jack Ezzell and wife Kathy of Sunset, J.D. Ezzell and wife Pam of Jacksboro, and Carroll Woods and wife JoAnn of Bridgeport; his daughters, Sarena Mae Turner of Chico, and Jimmie Ruth Carpenter of Sunset; his brothers, Jack Ezzell, Jerald Ezzell and wife Carol all of Ringgold, and Joe Ben Ezzell of Wichita Falls; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family members and a host of friends.
