Kathryn Jane Nivens

Kathryn Jane Nivens, 87, went to be with her Lord Thursday, December 5th, 2024 in Bowie, Texas.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 12th at First Baptist Church in Alvord, Texas with burial at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior at the church.

Roger Deerinwater will officiate. Pallbearers include Don Barnes, Monty Nivens, Gaylynn Wheelis, Bruce Nivens, Larry Nivens, and Michael J. Nivens. 

Jane was born March 17th, 1937 to Thomas Vernon and Emma Jane (McDonald) Raley in Alvord, Texas. She graduated Alvord High School and was a retired Secretary after many years with Alvord ISD. Jane was united in marriage July 25th, 1953 to Lloyd Nivens in Waurika, Oklahoma. She was a member of Alvord First Baptist Church and Eastern Star. Jane was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Emma Raley; her husband, Lloyd Nivens; 3 brothers, Les, Vernon, and Burch Raley.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lea Ann Capel and husband Raimond of North Richland Hills, and Mary Kuykendall of North Richland Hills; a son, Jim Nivens of Ft. Worth; 7 grandchildren, Cassie Weddel, Lindsey Hurt, Celine Capel, Beryl Call, Raley Nivens, Lauren Kuykendall, and Alana Kuykendall; 2 great-grandchildren, Henry & Holly Hurt; a sister, Margie Raley; extended family members and a host of friends.
