Decatur ~ Kay Polone, 80, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. Memorial will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church 910 South Collins Arlington, Texas.
Don Wilson will officiate. Pallbearers include Regan Polone, Ashton Martinez, Ryan Polone, Cody Everton, John Nichols, and Dustin Polone.
Kay was born on April 28, 1938 to John and Daphne (Owan) Bunnell in Hammond, Indiana. She was united in marriage to Raymond Polone on August 21, 1960 in Hammond, Indiana. Kay was a homemaker and passionately involved in First Christian Church activities. She was the president of CWF for many years and member of PEO. Kay cared for many special needs children at Littlest Angels. She was active member of the builders Sunday school and recently donated honey bee apiary hives, tools, and equipment to FCC’s Harvesting Hope Garden. Kay was very actively involved in the Decatur Book Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Nick Thrasher.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond Polone of Decatur; her daughters, Renee Polone Thrasher of Decatur, Robin Polone Nichols and husband Jon of Saginaw; her sons, Regan Polone and wife Shannon of Abline, Ryan Polone and wife Kristi of Boyd; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
