Kearnie John Pitre

Alvord ~ Kearnie John Pitre, 78, a retired maintenance mechanic, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in Decatur.

Graveside is 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2019 at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers include Marvin Porter, Tim Bartts, Justin Reed, Roy Williams, Richard Meeks, Jason Porter, Jonathan Silvey, Brian McDermott, and Kristopher Bartts.

Kearnie was born on March 5, 1941 to Ferdinand and Audrey Mary (Nezit) Pitre, Jr., in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was united in marriage to Katy Westmoreland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Melvin Pitre.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Katy Pitre of Alvord; his children, Tammy Gatz and husband Jim of Houston, Laurie Bustos and husband Roland of Houston, Angela Stavely and husband Scott of Katy, Robin Bartts and husband Tim of Denton, Marvin Porter and Terri of Alvord, and Misty Reed and husband Richard Meeks of Alvord; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his great-great- granddaughter; his brother, Michael Arseneaux; his sister, Joan Leonard; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
