Keith W. Simkins

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Decatur with Bishop Joey Harrison officiating. Burial is at 2:15 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Victor Presher, Glen Philipbar, Tad Billmire, Ken Blankenfeld, Larry Gaston, Steve Dahlbo, and Bobby Gaddis.

Keith was born on October 31, 1931 to Waldo and Peggy (Sparks) Simkins in Ursine, Nevada. He later married Veda Jo Turner on February 25, 1968 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Decatur.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Veda Jo Simkins of Decatur; 4 daughters, Sherlyn Fackrell and husband Howard of Nevada, Jody Anne Simkins of Nevada, Ginger Martin of Nevada, and Vicki McCutcheon and husband Howard of Wyoming; 8 grandchildren, Amy, Duane, Darrell, Dusty, Alisa, Veronica, Sean, and Farah; 2 brothers, Frank and Dan Simkins; 2 sisters, Hazel Davis and Murial Martin; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Simkins; and a daughter.
