Decatur ~ Kenneth Caraway, 88, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, March 30, 2022 on the Caraway Family Farm.
Graveside Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2022 at Sweetwater Cemetery in Decatur. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Honorary pallbearers include Eric Caraway, Jace Caraway, Cason Caraway, Logan James, Robert Wilson, Klent Foster, and Monty Caraway.
Kenneth was born April 23, 1933 to James Monroe and Callie Francis (Smith) Caraway in Decatur, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon return he was united in marriage December 26th, 1955 in Decatur, Texas to Minnie Laverta Young. He was a loving husband to Minnie before her passing in 1998. Kenneth was a rancher and farmer in the agriculture industry for many years, working on the family farm that has been operated by the Caraway Family since 1878. Kenneth was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Callie Caraway; his wife Minnie Caraway; 2 brothers, Gene Edwin Caraway and Bert Caraway; and his sister, Shirley Foster.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Gary Caraway and wife Lisa of Decatur; 2 daughters, Marcia Morrison of Decatur, and Melinda Wilson and husband Bart of Decatur; 4 grandchildren, Eric Caraway and wife Jocelyn of Decatur, Jace Caraway and wife Ryan of Decatur, Cason Caraway and wife Emma of Decatur, and Chanan James and husband Logan of Midland; 9 great-grandchildren, Lake, Ledgen, Saylor, Rosie, Lucy, Presley, Annistyn, Tanner, and expecting Tucker in June; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
