Kenneth D. Goodwin
Date Died: April 01, 2011

Boyd---Kenneth D. Goodwin, 63, a retired auto body technician went to be with our Lord Friday, April 1, 2011 in Ft. Worth.

Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Western Star Cowboy Church with Brother Bobby Bowden officiating. Interment will be in Hog Branch Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Pallbearers are Brian Alexander, Brian Roach, Brandon Goodwin, Bradley Goodwin, Mark Wallen, Lynn Sanders, Tye Kinnibrugh and Jim Farrar.

Kenneth was born March 14, 1948 to Curtis and Mary (Sanders) Goodwin in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was the second oldest of five children and spent most of his childhood in Grapevine. There he was instilled with the values that made him the man he grew to be. He grew up from humble beginnings which taught him the importance of hard work, integrity, and respect for others.

After high school in March of 1971, he married Sheila Kinser on May 10, 1971 in Ft. Worth. They had three children, Jeff, Amy, and Sara. No one could ask for a better father. From day one he was there for all of them. He was the kind of dad that always knew how to fix what was broken, how to make you laugh when you were sad, and how to guide you when you weren't sure which direction to go in life. He was the kind of man anyone would want to raise their sons to become. Kenneth was a member and an elder of the Western Star Cowboy Church and a Mason with the Grapevine Lodge.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Goodwin and his sister, Linda Gilbert.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 40 years, Sheila Goodwin of Boyd; his son, Jeff Goodwin and wife Amy of Cleburne; his daughters, Amy Peebles and husband Bubba of Boyd, and Sara Atkinson and husband Steven of Wharton; his grandchildren, Hayden, Casen, Cole, Landrey, Cody and Logan; his mother, Mary Goodwin of Boyd; his brothers, Rusty Goodwin and wife Jo of Paradise and Don Goodwin and wife Lilace of Paradise; his sister, Tammie White and husband Timmy of Saltillo; other family members and a host of friends.
