Kenneth Wesley Upton, 77,went to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2009 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8th at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Barry Jameson officiating. Interment will follow the service in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Roger Zemmin, Foster Walker, James Ray Garrett, Charles Evans, Pat Miller and Don Mashburn.
Kenneth was born on December 24, 1931 in Houston, Texas to Wesley Chandler and Laura V. (Brown) Upton. He attended Tulsa University and worked as a robotic engineer. He married Rae Jeanine Morin on December 27, 1959 in Odessa, Texas, and was married 45 years until she preceded him in death in January, 2004.
Kenneth was a member of Kappa Sigma, the Tulsa Letterman Club, Decatur Rotary and Lions Club, Robotics International and a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Terri J. Moore of Waxahachie, Susie Jameson and husband Barry of Little Elm, and Judy Mashburn and husband, Dennis of Southaven, MS; eight grandchildren, Nicole Jasien, Jason Moore, Blake, Brian, Ben, Sarah Jameson, Davis and Ross Mashburn; three great grandchildren, Taylor, Kayden and Jake Jasien; two sisters, Bettye Wilford and Elaine Hazelton; numerous nieces, nephews and host of friends.
