Longview: Kent Odell Powell, 27, formerly of Decatur, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in Fort Worth.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Decatur Church of Christ with Rick Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Brad Culberson, Chase Coffman, Trevor Powell, Adam Piper, Darren Luera and Jonavan Jordan.
Kent was born on February 20, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas to Phillip and Teresa (Wolf) Powell. He married Natalie Mosley on December 22, 2006 in Plano, Texas. Kent graduated from Decatur High School in 2000 and graduated from Southwest Texas University with a degree in geography. He worked as a fracturing coordinator for Select Services in Longview. Kent was a member of the Alpine Church of Christ in Longview.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Natalie Powell of Longview; son, Cason Powell of Longview; parents, Phillip Powell of Bryan, Texas, Teresa Powell of Decatur; brother, Trevor Powell and wife, Christina of Weatherford; grandfather, Gene Wolfe of Bridgeport.
Kent is preceded in death by his grandmother, Pat Wolf, grandparents, Odell and Dorothy Powell.

Teresa and Family, So sorry to hear of your loss. This has really hit the kids that grew up with Kent. He was a fun kid and we have many memories of him at College Hill and Keller.

I can't believe this has happened. You guys will be in our prayers. I'm sorry I can't make it to the funeral, but my mom will be there. I found an old photo album from College Hill yesterday, and there was a great picture of Kent when he was about 10 or 11. I guess I'll always think of him as that little kid!
