Rhome ~ Labe L. Hawkins, Jr., 73, a mechanic, went to be with our Lord Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Pallbearers include Kyle Denton, Devon Dennis, Daniel Caldwell, Trey Dennis, Aaron Brickle, and Jeff Baxter.
Labe was born on December 21, 1942 to Labe, Sr. and Irma (Boydston) Hawkins in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Linda Rogers on November 6, 1961 in Saginaw. Labe owned Hawkins Automotive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Joshua Dykes; his sister, Minnie Fleming; and his brother, Wilbert Hawkins.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Linda Hawkins of Rhome; his daughters, Kamala Ellison and husband Larry of Fort Worth and Pamala Edgett of Rhome; his grandchildren, Kacie Stevens and Kyle Denton; his great grandchildren, Zachary, Zane, Chance, Destiny, Liberty, and Caleb; his brothers, Cleve Hawkins and wife Nancy and Jerry Hawkins and wife Bessie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
