Larry was born to Dwight and Lena (Trahern) Clemmons On Sept 4, 1938 in Liberal, Kansas. At a young age his family moved to Flagler, Colorado. They lived on a farm, where Larry learned to work, and tend livestock. After a while the family moved into town, and opened Tip Top Service, a Case dealership where Larry began learning about diesel mechanics at the young age of ten.

Larry joined the Navy after graduating from high school, where he proudly served his country in the submarine service.

After Larry received his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked awhile for GM as a diesel mechanic. During this time, he met his first wife, Sharon. He returned to Flagler and worked alongside his father, until moving to Texas.  There he held several jobs, including owning, and operating a Mobile home park in Hewitt, Texas.

His final career change came when he began working for Combined Insurance Company of America, where he received much recognition, and many awards for his outstanding sales. He was employed by them for 30 years.

It was during this time he met the love of his life, Elaine. He proposed in his own special Larry way, and won over Elaine’s heart. They were married on November 25, 1989 at her mother’s home in Bridgeport, Texas.

Larry was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.  He was always hard working, never hesitating to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. The community, family, and friends will miss his sense of humor, and eagerness to help others. He was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Bridgeport, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wounded Warriors or Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
