Alvord ~ Larry Lee Wilson, 75, a retired school superintendent, went to be with our Lord Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28 at the First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial in Sunset, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Pat Garrett, Melton Neighbors, Caleb Smith, Chris Smith, Mark Dalton, and Tom Rhone. Honorary Pallbearers are Kenneth Buckner and Walter Bull.
Larry was born on March 9, 1940 to D.B. and Verma (Blair) Wilson in Clovis, New Mexico. He was united in marriage to Barbara Stover on August 19, 1961 in Stinnett, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord and received his Masters Degree from West Texas State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Wilson.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Barbara Wilson of Alvord; sons, Kelly Wilson and wife Misty of Mineral Wells, Texas and Frank Wilson and wife Suzi of Copperas Cove, Texas; daughter, Laura Smith and husband Troy of Dumas; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew, and a host of friends.
