Larry Gene Munn

Paradise~ Larry Gene Munn, 83, of Paradise passed away Saturday June 19, 2021 at Stagecoach in Bridgeport.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2021 in Paradise Cemetery.

Larry was born on August 10, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas. Son of Silas and Fay Evelyn (Allison) Munn, moved to Paradise in 1942 and was raised by his Grandparents Tom and Bertha Allison. Larry worked in the oilfields in Chico and Bridgeport, Texas. He joined the United States Navy in January 20, 1960 and proudly served his country over 10 years, including two tours overseas and was deployed to Puerto Rico during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Larry was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in February 1970. He worked for city of River Oaks for over twenty years and retired in 1997. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association, V.F.W. Post 2137 in Azle, Texas and the American Legion Post 626 in Fort Worth, Texas. Larry was a member of The First Baptist Church in Paradise.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Bertha Allison and Eugene and Annie Munn; his parents, Silas and Fay Munn; his half-brother, Foy R. Moorehead, Jr.; his cousins, Ben Don Allison, Billy and Shirley Munn, Jimmy and Joy Munn, Orville Munn, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his cousins, Jerry Munn, Donna Munn, Ronald Munn and wife Barbara, and Frances Munn all of Bridgeport, Bill Munn of Arlington, and Mary Ann Putman of Spring, Texas, Charles Allison of Sulphur Springs, Alma Jean Hodge and husband Bruce of Arlington, Rickey Allison and wife Cathy of Sulphur Springs and numerous extended cousins and family members.
