Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Jessie Day Denton and brother, Jack Denton. Survivors: Sister, Latrell Denton Hays of Bridgeport; nephew, Dennis Reasoner of Lake Bridgeport; and niece Shirley Sue Denton.
